The Erichsen Cupping Machine is used to check the drawability of sheet metal components and is manufactured strictly in compliance with IS : 10175 (Part I); 1993 & ISO 8490 :1986. The machine has a standard ball which is made to penetrate through a clamped sample sheet upto 2 mm thickness.

It is a suitable apparatus for carrying out the tests relating to resistance to scratch under a specified load. Test are conducted either on a go/no go basic by testing at a single specified load on the needle or by increasing loads to determine the minimum load at which the coating is penetrated.

It is used in testing paints, varnishes, and lacquers & similar products. This instrument is most suitable for small laboratories and industries where repetitive quality control tests are carried out.

It has been specifically designed to assess the rust-proof ability of components and their ability to withstand corrosion due to atmospheric conditions. The test temperature in the chamber can be adjusted anywhere between ambient & +60°C. The equipment is fitted with a digital temperature controller which ensures accuracy and reliability. The double walls of the Presto Salt Spray Chamber are filled with glass wool insulation. This has a two pronged benefit. Firstly it ensures that the temperature is accurate and reliable enough to meet the international standard of testing. Secondly it prevents distortion and deformation due to high temperatures. The chamber incorporates the latest technology including an Air Flow Meter which regulates the air flow from 0 to 30 psi. It is also equipped with an air jacket heating system which ensures uniformity of temperature. A see-through cover optimizes test observation by providing continuous direct visual observation of the test item. Further, the Presto Salt Spray Chamber is fully tested before shipment and comes with an instruction manual & a calibration certificate. It strictly adheres to ISO, ASTM, JIS, IS and DIN standards.
