Ozone Chamber

This method covers the estimation of the resistance of vulcanized rubber to cracking when exposed to an atmosphere containing ozone. The rubber specimens are kept under a surface tensile strain, and the ozone content or partial pressure in the test chamber is maintained at a fixed value.

Providing precise and accurate ozone (O3) concentration environment for rubber and polymer test. Widely applied to (1) Accelerated ageing research (2) Quality control and assurance tests and (3) R& D laboratory formula experiments for cracking resistance. Wide ranges of ozone concentration (normal 20-250 pphm; or according to customer's request) can satisfy user's different requirements. The real ozone concentration is controlled and measured accurately by means of precise detecting system. The Ozone Test chamber enables a sample comparison; on specimen prepared from the test slabs or molded/ extruded rubber products; to determine resistance of the rubber to ozone concentration controlled at a predetermined level in the ranges 25-50/50-100/100-200 PPH/M at predetermined temperature.

Oscillating Disc Rheometer

This method covers the use of the oscilating disk curemeter for determining the vulcanization characteristics of vulcanizable rubber compounds. In this method, a specimen of compounded rubber is contained in a sealed test cavity under a positive pressure and maintained at an elevated temperature. A biconical disk is embedded in the test specimen and is oscillated about the shaft axis through a small are. This action exerts a shear strain on the test specimen and the force at maximum amplitude (torque) required to oscillate the disk is proportional to the stiffness (shear modulus) of the rubber. This torque is recorded autographically as a function of time.

The stiffness of the rubber specimen increases during vulcanization. A test is completed when the recorded torque either rises to an equilibrium or maximum value, or when a predetermined time has elapsed. The time required to obtain a curve is a function of the test temperature and the characteristics of the rubber compound.

Graphics including Elastic torque; Cure rate; and Upper/Lower dies temperatures. Data; such as ML; MH; TS; TC; CRI etc.; can be taken from each test. Cure curve provides the processing; vulcanizing; and vulcanized physical properties of rubber cross-linking reaction. Multiple control gates are available for controlling the specified data such as ML; MH; TS; and TC. Standard accessory - SPC (Statistical Process Control) software is used to analyze and draw the statistical control charts including X-RM; -R; histogram; and normal distribution for some specified data.
