Presto Digital Tensile Testing Machine is for yarn, fabric & finished garments is based on the constant rate of traverse (CRT) principle. The sample is held between two jaws, the upper one is a stationary jaw while the other end is made to move at a known fixed speed with the help of motor, gear box and lead screw arrangement (75mm or 300mm per minute). The load exerted on the stationary jaw is sensed by a sensor connected with load cell, which directly indicates the load in digital form in kgs. the elongation is digitally displayed.

The Presto Digital Tensile Testing Machine is electrically operated and is used to check the physical impurities. It is basically vertical type, limit switches are incorporated for both the direction so to limit the traveling range. The accuracy of the tensile testing machine is within permissible limits as par IS: 1828.

The test specimen is held between two grips the upper one of which is connected to the load indicating arrangement while the lower moves down at constant speed with the help of a motor operated screw. The elongation is measured as the displacement of the lower grip. The tensile testing machine is designed to test as per Indian and other international specifications.

One of the most common measure of the quality of a fabric is the number of threads per unit length in both the warp and weft directions. In this apparatus a motorized travelling microscope is used for viewing the weave of the fabric under test. Openings of known widths are provided to enable picks and ends per unit length to be determined both in Metric and Imperial Systems.

The base of the apparatus is meticulously finished in Metallic Blue Paint and all other parts are made of Stainless Steel for trouble free life long operations.

Every Textile material irrespective of their form (i.e., Fiber, Yarn, Fabric) contain water, which is expressed in terms of moisture percentage. Wool has got the highest moisture content and synthetic fibers contains the lowest moisture content.

Digital Moisture Meter measures moisture by sensing the electrical resistance of the hygroscopic material. The sensing can be done with one of the three type of electrodes. The section of sensor depends upon the form of the material. Pin type sensors can be used for loose cotton materials cones, cheese. Flat type of sensors can be used for fabric for web. Rollers can be used for fabric or yarn or web running on the machine. The long electrodes are made specially for cotton bales or such application.
